This is essentially your decision but it is recommended that you refer to other FAQ items including the descriptions of time commitment and the required qualifications.
Some of our volunteers do have full-time employment, however they are willing to devote much of their free-time to VMR and usually do not have other considerably time consuming commitments eg young families or sporting schedules to work around.
If you are very keen to be part of VMR but do not have a lot of free time, perhaps consider volunteering as a radio operator instead. This role is also crucial as our radio room crew are in a pivotal role, acting as a communications conduit between a boat in trouble and our Search and Rescue Coordinators. It is an equally important role but the time commitment is considerably less.
